Making a simple log cabin, and I need a simple roofing technique?

Plywood, rolled tar paper , then rolled roofing should do it fairly cheap…
Agree. If this is a log fishing hut aesthetics may not enter into the equation. However, you got to make sure you have enough slope if this is for ice fishing, since you are going to have snow. You can slope one angle, or pitch two angles. The slope one angle will give you an outhouse look but is a lot easier than trussing for two angles. You just have to adjust one wall higher than the opposite, and then adjust the other two to handle the angle. You would anyway, with two angles.
Just make some trusses and put them on 2 foot apart . Lay some 1x4s across the trusses 18 inch’s apart then lay some tin on the roof overlapping each other. Then use the special tin to cap off the roof. Dont use logs too much weight. Use plywood and framing. Build it on skids. So you can pull it with snow mobile.
I would make the roof a tin roof. They last forever and are cheap and you need nothing under them because then are plenty strong enough on their own.
