Does anyone know hot to get roofing tar out of blue jeans?

Ok I was laying shingles on a roof and a little bit of the roofing tar got on my jeans. Any tips on removal is appriciated. Thanks

  1. Countless people have tried, no one has been successful. Learn to love the jeans with the tar on them, or go buy some new ones. Roofing tar is the worst possible thing to get out of fabric.

  2. Buy some new jeans as it can’t be done. Always wear old jeans when doing this kind of work.

  3. Try this stuff called Goof Off in the paint dept.
    It dissolves the tar off of tools and hands, so it would probably work for clothes. Good luck.

  4. the best ive found is D-L hand cleaner- most any good auto parts store type hand cleaner will work. WD-40 works as a stain pre-treater too. when you wash them, add some Arm&Hammer washing soda along with your detergent- it is a great emulsifier.
